We are conducting this process in prayer and contemplation. Though the timing may appear slow, we believe it is in cooperation with the Holy Spirit. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you.

Prayers of Transition

During this time of transition, Grace Church is blessed with the gifts and faith of parishioner, Karin Temple. Karin is a published poet. Using her gift of poetry for Grace, she writes a prayer of transition for each season which we pray together every week. Enjoy these prayers…and pray daily for Grace Church and our next rector.

Our Summer Prayer of Transition
Alleluia! Thanks be to God for the completion of the Parish Profile and the selection of the Search Committee. We are reminded that you have a plan for us, Lord, during our journey toward our next rector, even while the world is in tumult around us. Help us, O Lord, to navigate this search for new spiritual leadership in a caring, prayerful, and patient fashion, always listening to your call. Also mercifully assist us in re-opening our beloved church for service. In your name we pray. Amen.

Our Pentecost Transition Prayer
Merciful Creator, all times are your seasons, yet we give special thanks for the glory of this spring unfolding around us amidst so many sorrows, not least among them our long Eucharistic fast.
Send us your Holy Spirit, Lord, the Advocate to lead us in the work you have given us to do, in truth and beauty and for the common good.  In time, may we know your affirmation “This is the way; walk in it”. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

Our Easter Prayer of Transition:
Lord of love and hope, we thank you for showing us the way through this Lenten season where we, like the women of Jerusalem, wept for you, and for ourselves and our children.  As your Easter people once again, we pray you, gracious God, to guide us in the continued search for our next rector and toward the Sunday when we will kneel again in your Sanctuary – all aglow and abloom, aloud with organ and alive with Alleluias!  Amen.
