Is God calling you to be the next Rector of Grace Episcopal Church in Astoria Oregon? Listen carefully to God and to your heart…perhaps it might just be you.
January 2020: Grace Episcopal Church has begun the search for our next Rector. This is a process steeped in prayer, thoughtfulness, hope and imagination. We will update our process as we go along. We ask for your prayers. If you feel so called to enter the process, please contact The Reverend Canon Neysa Ellgren Shepley, the Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Oregon. All applications are to go through Canon Neysa at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chair of the Search Committee is selected. Read more about the process of forming our Search Committee here.
Our Profile Committee is busily working on the final edition of our Profile. Once it has been approved by the Vestry and our Bishop, we will publish it here. Please check back.
We are conducting this process in prayer and contemplation. Though the timing may appear slow, we believe it is in cooperation with the Holy Spirit. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you.
Prayers of Transition
During this time of transition, Grace Church is blessed with the gifts and faith of parishioner, Karin Temple. Karin is a published poet. Using her gift of poetry for Grace, she writes a prayer of transition for each season which we pray together every week. Enjoy these prayers…and pray daily for Grace Church and our next rector.
Our Easter Prayer of Transition:
Lord of love and hope, we thank you for showing us the way through this Lenten season where we, like the women of Jerusalem, wept for you, and for ourselves and our children. As your Easter people once again, we pray you, gracious God, to guide us in the continued search for our next rector and toward the Sunday when we will kneel again in your Sanctuary – all aglow and abloom, aloud with organ and alive with Alleluias! Amen.
